Shadowrocket Docs is the official Shadowrocket website and user manual. This page explains the scope of the documentation, its information sources, and user responsibilities. Before following a tutorial, changing a configuration, or purchasing the app, check the relevant details against the information shown on your device.
1. About this site and its scope
This site covers authenticity checks, purchasing and installing the app, importing existing configurations, traffic rules, and common questions. Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app available exclusively on Apple platforms, primarily for iPhone and iPad. The App Store is the only place to get it.
This site does not provide, sell, or recommend nodes or subscription services. The documentation assumes you already have your own subscription or server details. Get subscription details from your service provider. A one-time client purchase does not include a service plan: buying the app grants a license to use the client; it does not provide a connection service, server account, or continuously available route.
2. Accuracy and interface changes
Tutorials are based on the interface and features available when they are written. Layouts, option locations, and system permission prompts may change with app or system updates, so the documentation may not match what appears on your device. Names such as Home, Config, and Global Routing are kept in English. Check the options and descriptions shown in the app before proceeding.
Rule snippets explain syntax and matching behavior; they are not complete configurations for every network. Even with identical syntax, parsing results, server-side conditions, and rule order can affect how traffic is routed. We strive for accuracy, but cannot guarantee that examples will produce the same results on every device or network. If you notice a difference, pause the relevant changes and check whether the instructions apply to your setup.
3. Configuration and user responsibilities
Before importing a configuration, changing rules, or enabling On Demand, make sure you understand the purpose of the change and keep a copy of the original configuration. Configuration files may contain server details, authentication parameters, and domain mappings; check their source and contents. When authorizing a VPN configuration, read the system prompt and confirm that the requested authorization matches what you expect.
You are responsible for complying with applicable laws and the terms governing the networks and connection services you use, and for deciding whether a configuration suits your needs. Incorrect rules, expired credentials, or server-side changes may cause access problems, dropped connections, or changes to traffic routing. We cannot guarantee ongoing availability or specific connection results when network or server conditions are outside this site's control.
4. App Store purchases and external links
Before purchasing, check the App Store listing for the developer, Shadow Launch Technology Limited, the official app icon, and app ID 932747118. The price, currency, payment confirmation, restoration of purchases, and refund process are governed by the App Store listing and the actual transaction flow. The information on this site does not replace the store listing or your transaction records.
System requirements and purchase eligibility are as listed on the App Store page. Compatibility information on this site, including for Mac and Apple TV, is also based on that listing. When you visit the Shadowrocket App Store product page, the terms and privacy rules of that service apply. We do not control changes to the page, regional availability, or transaction processing.
5. Limitation of responsibility and troubleshooting
To the extent permitted by applicable law, this site is not responsible for losses resulting from failure to check whether instructions apply, incorrect configuration changes, or issues with external services. This disclaimer does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded or limit your statutory consumer rights.
If you run into an issue, start with the FAQ or follow the Getting Started guide to check each step. For purchase or billing issues, use the relevant process provided by the App Store. For authentication, expiration, or server status related to an existing subscription, contact your service provider. When troubleshooting or reporting an issue, avoid sharing a complete configuration that contains passwords or access credentials.
